Climax Events: Labor Day Weekend Orlando 2012

Whether you’re checking in or out of Orlando this weekend, these 3 weekend days provide a much needed break from reality. This Labor Day weekend is something we can all appreciate as we take time off and pay tribute to the American workforce. In order to maximize your time off, Culture Climax has put together a list of Climax Events for you to check out this weekend in Central Florida. Art shows, concerts, festivals and parties, this Climax Events list will hopefully make you Climax Every Day over this Labor Day Weekend.

The Star 94.5 Tom Joyner Family Reunion at the Gaylord Palms
Celebrating their 10th Anniversary, Star 94.5 and Tom Joyner bring you another spectacular reason to explore the different scenes in Orlando for Labor Day Weekend. Live performances by Urban Mystic, KEM, Mint Condition, Angie Stone and more, a vendor expo and family-friendly fun take over the Gaylord Palms Hotel Thursday August 30 – Sunday September 2. NKF Pro Am Surf Festival in Cocoa Beach
This annual event has brought surfers and surf-aficionados to Cocoa Beach for a great cause for the past 27 years! The NKF Pro Am Surf Festival has grown immensely and is attracting more than just surfers by adding live performances, karate demos, bikini contests and this year the Taste of Brevard & Silent Auciton will be taking place that Sunday, Sept 2nd. Happy Hour at Senso from 7pm-11pm
Senso in the heart of downtown Orlando is now home to one of our favorite Friday happy hour events presented by Jae Johnson, Barnard Fleurima, and Alex Virella. Great music and $4 drinks til 10pm with FREE admission. 21+. More Info

Have A Blue Moon on a Blue Moon at Wall St. Plaza
Friday August 31st is officially a blue moon! Celebrate in style and swing by Wall St. Plaza for $4 Blue Moon beers with the Blue Moon girls. More info

Backyard BBQ Labor Day Party at Terrace 390 from 2pm-8pm
Lemy Currey, Jae Johnson and 5 Star Ent. are bringing together something you’ve never experienced in Orlando… a backyard BBQ party! This is not your average BBQ! Sole Fest Sneaker Event at Blue Moon Ultra Lounge from 12pm-5pm
Sole Fest is ready for yet another epic sneaker trading event! The good people at Home of the Sole are bringing sneakerheads another event! Sole Fest this Labor Day Weekend will take place at Blue Moon Ultra Lounge in East Orlando in Waterford Lakes from 12pm-5pm. Buy, sell, trade your kicks! More info

Sunsplash Festival at The Acre in Orlando 12pm-10pm
Celebrate summer for a great cause at the Sunsplash Festival this Saturday. The event will benefit the Florida School of Holistic Living. Local bands and solo acts will take the stage along with local food and brews, artists, vendors and waterslides! Located right off of Edgewater Drive in Orlando. More info

Caribbean Festival in Cocoa Beach
Better late than never! This weekend Operation Love presents the Caribbean Festival 2012 celebrating 50 years of Jamaican Independence! (Big up to all the Jamaicans out there!) The festivities are taking place at Riverfront Park in Downtown Cocoa Village starting at 11am! Enjoy fun for the whole family with games, food, live reggae music, kids area, vendors and more. Food Truck Bazaar in Sanford 5pm-8pm

The Network Music Conference at Firestone
Looking to make it in the music/entertainment industry? Networking is key as you all know and this Labor Day Saturday you can stop by Firestone for a networking and music conference where you can meet some radio and label execs, DJs, promoters and more! More info

Labor Day Weekend Day Party at Ember 3pm-9pm

Redrum Art Opening at The Falcon Orlando at 8pm
We all remember those two scary twins from The Shining, a classic scene from 80′s horror at it’s best! The Falcon Bar in Orlando’s Thornton Park district is bringing together some of Orlando’s top artists to pay tribute to The Shining. Join in on the opening party festivities this Saturday. Labor Day Weekend Music Festival at The West End Trading Co. at 12pm
Check out this all day music event featuring live music showcased by some of Orlando’s top musicians like Evan Taylor Jones on Sunday September 2nd in Sanford! 2 Stages, 20+ Artists, 1 Day. Great drink specials, prizes, no work the next day, presented by Booked Promotions. More info

Sunday Funday at Sky 60 from 4pm-2am
Every Sunday party on the Rooftop at Sky60, and this Sunday the rooftop is open 4pm-2am!! Presented by Barnard Fleurima, Live Republic, and us at CultureClimax.com this is one of the best events in Orlando! MEAC/SWAC Challenge at The Florida Citrus Bowl 8am-6pm

Labor Day Celebration at City Walk Orlando
City Walk is throwing their own spin on a Sunday Funday Labor Day Celebration featuring cabanas, live music, food, drinks and DJ’s like Orlando’s own DJ M-Sqaured from 9pm-2am for $10. Florida Residents can park for free after 6 p.m. 21+. More info

The Supervillians & Pepper live in concert at House of Blues Orlando

Tyga & Meek Mill live in concert at UCF Arena
This Labor Day, Sunday September 2, 2012 at 7pm Meek Mill and Tyga will be performing live in concert at the UCF Arena in East Orlando, home of the Knights! Also taking the stage will be special guests Lundo and Andrew Floyd. More info

Sunday Night Live at 57 West at 8pm
A true tribute to Orlando’s classy live music scene. Cece Teneal & Soul Kamotion have been hosting this event for such a long time and it’s truly an Orlando classic! Hosted by comedian Rod-Z, live music, drink specials and a great crowd. More info

Labor Day Weekend Close Out Soiree at Dragon Room

Monday

Dr. Phillips Food Truck Festival from 12pm-6pm
The Dr. Phillips Food Truck Festival on Monday September 3rd is that perfect medium! You can get out of the house, get your friends/family together and head to Dr. Phillips High School from noon – 6pm for over 30 food trucks! More info

Labor Day Rally at Lake Eola Park from 10am-3pm
And last but not least on our event guide, something that truly has to relate to the concept of Labor Day! We had to squeeze one in. Monday from 10am-3pm join the AFL/CIO for a Labor Day celebration paying tribute to the American workers.
