This isn’t only a post about some great new hip hop hitting the internet. This is just the beginning of a story that we will continue to see unfold about a photographer and visual artist named Dwayne Moore. Dwayne Moore is one of the many incredible talents that emerged from the Orlando scene and has taken his passion to the next level. He has released books of his creative visuals and photography and has perfectly overstepped the boundaries of what you consider to be a picture. We will continue to cover his artistic creations as we have in the past.
Hip hop musician B.o.B. has commissioned Dwayne Moore to create the cover art for his most recent release EPIC: Every Play Is Crucial. When I received the call from TJ about the “EPIC – Every Play Is Crucial” project I was already in my B.o.B zone creating another visual piece for him that I will release on a later date. B.o.B got on the phone and said one thing, “Dwayne, just do you.”
If you know B.o.B and his music you’ll understand right away that his mind and music goes hand in hand with my artwork. His single “Strange Clouds” inspired the art for EPIC. It took me about an hour to sit, clear the mind, and meditate so the images could flow. I started creating the art about 11PM and didn’t finalize it until around 5AM. I was in a spaced out zone the entire time. I explained to B.o.B and TJ that I wanted to just create without limitations, once the art was sent he was ready to mash the button. If you combine the earthly elements, mathematics, and multi-dimensions, you’re left with a celestial haze. As the viewer, you are in one dimension observing the next through a portal preparing for entry. I decided to use certain numerical color tones to enhance the colors, which gave it life.
Once you listen to tracks on this CD like “Perfect Symmetry” and “New York New York” you will quickly realize that B.o.B is a true artist that pushes beyond the box. The art has more of a House/Electronica appearance but it’s for Hip-Hop, which shouldn’t surprise anyone that has been paying attention to his movement.
