Orlando’s very own skate shop, Galactic G, established back in 1996 has a brand new makeover.
Located at 334 East Harvard St. the local skate shop has plenty to offer to Orlando’s local skateboarders, shoe heads, and those looking for some fresh comfy gear to rock at the everyday social. The shop has what every skate shop should carry and more, from skate decks of all sizes and popular brands, to trucks, wheels, and bearings. Aside from building your own custom board you can pick up some accessories from watches, wallets, sunglasses, and hats. Galactic G offers a wide selection of skateboard tees from DGK and PlanB, to premium shirts from LRG and Nike SB, and not to forget flannels and tees from Vans. If shoes are what you’re looking for, Galactic G has a shoe display shoe heads only dream of owning. Brands from Supra, Vans, DC, Osiris, Nike SB and more with plenty of sizes for yourself, your girl, your boy, and even kid sizes for your kids, nieces, and nephews. What is Galactic G?
Galactic G is Orlando’s oldest core skateboard shop. We carry major brands in decks, hard goods, accessories, clothing and footwear. Basically all that skateboarding has to offer.
Who is behind the scenes and instrumental into making the store function?
Ken and Hector run the shop from behind the scenes. Damon (sales) and also Shop Rider, Travis (sales) are new to the fam. All our team riders and homies that help us out and reppin the shop.
Tell us how you came about..
In 1996 after going to a few random skate shops we noticed that none of them where core to just skateboarding thus inspiring us.
Why did you decide to start your company in Orlando?
Florida is a state where people can skate all year round. Since were from Orlando and their was a void in the market we decided to open up shop on Ivanhoe row.
Do you plan on opening any other stores?
We had a second location in Merritt Island @ Paradise Skate Park. We closed it down a year ago to focus more on our City Beautiful.
As a whole, what do you think Orlando is missing?
Orlando is a newer city compared to all the major cities around the country. We need more culture and foundation in Orlando. Foundation meaning we need to grow with the city and set roots and traditions for our youth.
